Almost 100% of the population is adversly effected by gluten and other grain proteins in one form or another.
Some people are more intolerant than others and gluten intolerance sometimes gets confused with Celiac Disease. People with Celiac typically get extremely ill when exposed to gluten. Whereas a person with gluten intolerance may experience the following symptoms listed in this blog post.
10 Signs You’re Gluten Intolerant
1. Digestive issues
This includes issues such as gas, bloating, diarrhea and even constipation. I know people who were diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, who latest found out they actually have to gluten intolerance.
2. Fatigue
Fatigue, brain fog or feeling tired simply after eating a meal that contains gluten.
3. Keratosis Pilaris
Also known as ‘chicken skin’ on the back of your arms. This tends be as a result of a fatty acid deficiency and vitamin A deficiency secondary to fat-malabsorption caused by gluten damaging the gut.
4. Autoimmune disease
Diagnosis of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ulcerative colitis, Lupus, Psoriasis, Scleroderma or Multiple sclerosis. Many people with autoimmune diseases are also gluten intolerant.
